What a busy week I've had on jury service! Passed a verdict Thursday morning, then straight on to another case which we're supposed to be deliberating on Monday. It's a very interesting and an eye-opening experience to say the least!
I've had a lot of time to think this week, also been suffering with a horrendous cold, over the worst of it now though. Now I think about it I really don't know how I've kept up as I think if I'd been just at "normal" work I'd think have had to call in sick!
I have made a lot of decisions about various aspects of my life in the past couple of weeks, and looking forward to putting them into practice. They may not be huge decisions in the grand scheme of things but you have to start somewhere and the smallest steps are the easiest!
So how does all this relate to M.E you might ask? Well, as I have felt so ill over the past week, I thought to myself it would be a great starting point to go from when I do start feeling better, which I think has been today really.
First and foremost: Diet & nutrition: I am already taking a number of homeopathic remedies and a wholefood supplement. These are Echinacea, Milk Thistle and Dormeasan to help me sleep, and sort of liquid mulitvitamin product called Liquid Gold (!) These are the things that are right for MYSELF, please do not think I am dispensing medical advice here as I AM NOT! Please speak to a professional if you think these things might work for you!
As well as my daily supplements, I am concentrating on getting a lot of antioxidant-rich and immune system-boosting foods into my diet, to help my body and mind function to the best of it's ability. Then I can start to focus on other areas of my lifestyle such as pacing and perhaps graded exercise.
As I have said previously, NONE of this information should be taken as medical advice, I am merely documenting my own experiences and opinions for future reference, and hopefully to help people who may be in a similar situation or on a similar path.
Goals for the coming week include:
-Focusing on eating well and taking my supplements daily
-Getting enough rest
-Planning the week carefully to enable me to pace myself
-Using the above skills to help me find my "baseline" energy level
If you're reading this and you have ME/CFS I would love to read your comments!
