Things I Have Learned In 2011

I have been reading a lot recently about people summing up the past year, and planning ahead for the new one. Goals, dreams etc, etc. My main plan this year is to manage my CFS symptoms more effectively so I am able to do all the things I have dreamed of doing; but never had the guts to actually put into practice, mainly being much more creative and leading a more fulfilling, meaningful life.

So here is a list of things (in no particular order) that 2011 has taught me.

Things I have learned in 2011:

  • being in a non-reciprocal, one-sided relationship where I cannot eat or sleep properly is NOT being in a relationship

  • my job is a means to an end

  • things that are beyond my control will happen whether I worry about them or not

  • worrying acheives NOTHING

  • my art is loved by wonderful people around the world

  • being creative makes me happier than anything

  • my Mum does not need me to take care of her

  • it is okay to ask for help

  • I have learned who my true friends REALLY are

  • seeing my football team relegated really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things

  • I have CFS/ME; but that is okay

  • people who TRULY care for me will accept me just the way I am

  • I have NO REASON to feel guilty for being ill

  • It is okay to be myself. In fact it is MORE than okay. It is WONDERFUL.

I am thankful to 2011 for all it has taught me. I now welcome 2012 with open arms and greet with love all the exciting opportunities, people, places and experiences it holds for me.

What has 2011 taught YOU? Let me know in the comments :)

Hope you have enjoyed reading, have a wonderful 2012 and FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS...
